what our clients have to say...
“Barry is an absolute rockstar if you are looking for your new home! He is very professional with huge circle of network, kind, caring, very fast with responses and does listen to your requirements when it comes to your preferences. He does an amazing job and would highly recommend him to my friends and colleagues! Thank you Barry for all your help finding our beautiful place we can call: home!”

Heidi Kalmar
“The first thing which stood out about Barry is that he answered an email I had sent him on a Sunday. After that he continuously showed a lot of support throughout the entire process. He knew everything about each apartment we viewed, his communication was clear, his estimate for the offer was accurate and 9 days after that Sunday I had an accepted offer. You can see he knows what he is doing, and has the right contacts with other agencies and agents to allow for a smooth process. 100% recommended.”

Athena Barris
” I have nothing but good things to say about the dream team of Barry and Monique Burgemeester. They guide us through the process with efficiency and with an excellent eye for detail. We now truly have our dream home and I am confident that we succeeded because of our choice in buying agent. Definitely the right choice for expats. I hear countless horror stories from friends who have gone elsewhere, so I’m glad I went with people I could trust.”

How we help expats
With extensive experience in finding exquisite and exclusive homes for expat clients in Amsterdam and the surrounding areas, Barry’s experience is particularly useful given the current state of the Amsterdam property market. Considering only 30% of property is privately owned in the city, purchasing a home can be a daunting task – supply is short and in high demand.
At Burgemeester Vastgoed, we aim to ensure that you get the best possible advice and weigh up the pros and cons before going ahead with an offer. As our client, we will strive to ensure you get the best value for money on your investment and match you with the best possible deal tailored to your situation and requirements.
Our friendly, personable approach means you can rely on us to take the stress out of finding your dream home. Dedication, flexibility, and communication are ingrained in our commitment to you and your property goals.

Meet Barry & Rens de Wilde, sr Mortgage advisor for ING Bank
Barry says
"Keeping your feet on the ground"
“It’s often only possible to make closed bids on properties, which, in turn, leads to some people overpaying in the heat of the moment. Our job is to ensure that our clients understand that sometimes, it’s better to walk away from a property than to overbid and offer too much.
How much you offer for a property depends on a number of factors, including the percentage of the price that’s being financed versus paid with cash. If you overbid on a property and have financing, there’s a real possibility that a bank might refuse to provide the money for the purchase.”
